Research: Mobile Value Added Services

 Across Asia Pacific region, India is the fastest growing market with phenomenal 63% growth rate. Mobile value added services market is expected cross 12,000 crore in 2009. Indian Companies like Bharti Airtel and Reliance Communications announced decent revenues from Value Added Services (VAS). Mobile VAS market news: 1. Mobile phone users worldwide will spend $ 32.2 billion, by 2010 on music received on mobile handsets- an increase from $ 13.7 billion in 2007. 2. Mobile payment users are to increase to a total of 33 million in 2008 and then further grow to a number of 103.9 million users in 2011. 3. Worldwide mobile gaming and user revenue is to grow to $9.6 billion in 2011. 4. Mobile advertising is projected to surpass $2.7 billion in 2008, an up from $1.7 billion in 2007. 5. The industry is poised for consistent growth and by the end of 2011, the worldwide mobile advertising revenue is forecasted to surpass $12.8 billion. With the arrival of 3G services, Indian VAS services are expected to increase their growth rates in the coming years. 1 billion mobile phones shipped in 2006

  According to International Data Group (IDC), more than 1 billion mobiles were shipped in 2006. This is 22.5% increase in growth over 2005. 0.83 billion mobiles were shipped in 2005. This performance is mainly attributed to rapid growth in China and India. India and China were added 74 million and 67 million new mobile subscribers respectively.
